LIPOSUCTION

Liposuction is the most common cosmetic produce preformed in the United States.
with almost 400,000 performed each year.
Liposuction is a type of cosmetic surgery procedure which breaks up and "sucks" fat from various parts of the body. The most commonly areas that undergo liposuction are the abdomen, waist, thighs, back, and arms. The fat is removed with an instrument, called a cannula, which is placed underneath the skin.
Ideal candidates for liposuction are those who have good skin tone and elasticity, where the skin molds itself into new contours. A patient whose skin lacks elasticity pre operatively may end up with loose-looking skin in areas where the procedure was done post-operatively. Therefore these patients are not the best candidates.
Liposuction is not intended as a weight-loss method and is not a good option for obese patients.
